All students have the opportunity to race for Cross Country glory in the annual King and Queen of the Mountain event at Northparkes Oval on Friday, 12 April. 11.00am – 2.30pm.

This year, all students will be taken to and from Northparkes Oval in year groups. Students will only attend the carnival for set period of time, it is not an all-day event for everyone. As such, there will be no obstacle races this year.

Buses will transport students to and from the oval. Parents who want to watch their children compete can come to the oval at the times listed below. It is advisable to turn up a little early in case we run ahead of schedule.

Students who are young for their year and are competitive runners will need to ensure they are at the oval at the appropriate time. Staff will assist students with this. Non-competitive runners can just stay with their year group and run with their friends. Competitive 8 year olds in Year 2 will need to stay and compete with the 8 year olds.

All ages are based on the age each child is turning – or has already turned – in 2024.

Ice blocks, drinks and snacks will be available to purchase at the oval, but there are no lunch options.
