Most of my teaching has been in Sydney schools; within these schools a clear distinction was formed between the Infants department and the Primary department or the Primary School and the High School.
PCS is one school from Kindergarten to Year 12. One playground. One teaching staff. One student body.
This term, it has been clearly on display from the staff working on the upcoming musical, disco night, SRC lunchtime soccer competitions and participating in the ANZAC Day events.
This term both high school teachers and primary teachers have been tirelessly working as one staff to prepare for the upcoming musical ‘The Little Mermaid’ and running the camo disco for primary and high school students.
This term the SRC have been running an inter house soccer competition. High school house captains and primary house captains have been working together to run soccer games. High school SRC students have been umpiring the primary games and students have been cheering on the high school games on the oval. One competition, one student body, one school.
On ANZAC Day one high school captain and one primary captain laid the wreath together on behalf of PCS at the Dawn service.
On ANZAC Day one school marched to show their appreciation and respect for those who fought for Australia.
On ANZAC Day primary and high school captains attended the ceremonial luncheon at the RSL. Here the high school students cared for the primary captains ensuring they felt comfortable at a formal luncheon.
PCS is a school with 269 students from Kindergarten to Year 12, however it is one school.
One student body working together, one staff teaching cooperatively together and one school reaching out to the wider community.
