Luke Magill is well underway in the restoration of his 1986 Honda XR600R. He has dedicated himself to the task to fully restore his motorcycle to new condition. Luke has disassembled the bike and has cataloged the parts that require replacement, restoration and finishing.
Luke is pictured restoring the luster of the tyred and faded petrol tank. Luke has investigated the processes used to carry out this task and has selected a method that uses sanding with wet and dry paper in soapy water, starting with a 400 grit and working through to 1200 grit.
When Luke has achieved the desired finish he will then finish with a buffing wheel and cutting and polishing compound.
