Various students from Primary and High School created beautiful Waste to Art entries based around the theme of ‘Textiles and Fast Fashion’. Their entries are being displayed in the Coventry Room at the Parkes Shire Library and Cultural Centre.
Saturday, 3 June, was the opening of the Waste to Art gallery and awards were handed out that morning.
Our primary section received a highly commended for their entry of ‘The Paper and Plastic Princess goes to the Coronation’ in the Primary School 3D section, along with a highly commended in the same section to Evangeline Brown (Yr 3). Briley Farrell (Yr 6) received first place in the Primary School 3D section.
PCS also had four High School students enter in the competition; Angelique Bland, Addison Collier, Charli Gould and Chloe Amery, these students entered in the High School Functional Section of the competition with Chloe Amery receiving first place. We are very proud of the work they have all put into their art pieces.
All artworks are available for everyone in the community to view until June 30 and we encourage you all to head down to the Parkes Shire Library and Cultural Centre and look around the gallery at all the amazing pieces on display.
