Well here we are in the home stretch for 2022. With only 8 weeks of school left, it’s hard to imagine how we are going to squeeze everything in! I love Term 4; HSC exams, Pre Kindy, end of year festivities and hopefully some warm weather all make for an exciting time. Term 4 is particularly significant this year as we are holding our 40 Year Anniversary celebrations; and what a celebration we have planned!
On the weekend of October 29 and 30th of October we are holding our Spring Fair and Celebration church service. Everyone is welcome to attend! Our staff, parents and students are busy planning a great Spring Fair on Saturday, with the school and Parkes Community Church organising a great celebration on Sunday at 10am. 40 years as a Christian school is certainly worth celebrating and I am pleased to say that many of our former staff, principals and founding members will be at the event, along with our current families and students. There will also be a BBQ lunch after the service, with classrooms and facilities open for people to wander through and look at what has been happening lately.
The story of Parkes Christian School is one that I have referenced many times in the past, and one I will continue to reference in the future. It is a story worth telling, and one that will encourage you as you hear of God’s favour and faithfulness to this place. As we move into a new era of PCS, it is so important to understand our history and the legacy that goes with it. Our Celebration Service will be one such time when we look at key elements and moments from our past, celebrate what God has done and continues to do today.
I do hope that you can join us over this special weekend in October. All of us are privileged to be part of something much bigger than ourselves. To our parents, staff, church members and students, thank you for being part of the story and don’t miss the chance to get together as a school community and thank God for all he has done.
