On Monday night our Hall was buzzing with students getting the first opportunity in 2021 to show off their work and talk about the things going on around our school. Mr Ballantyne said it well when he spoke on Monday evening that our High School Expo was the first event cancelled in 2020 so students missed out on the opportunity to show the wider community what PCS is all about. They made up for it in 2021 with a fantastic night showcasing key subject areas such as; English, Maths, Science, HSIE, PDHPE, Creative Arts Technology and general school life.
It was terrific to see many familiar faces in our current Year 6 students and their families but also new faces who came to see what is on offer at Parkes Christian School. We are a big believer in the students being our greatest advocate. So our guests got to hear from Caleb Hill as he showed them the intricacies of Physics as well as Luke Hall-Matthews as he introduced himself and answered any questions they had. They got to put their taste buds to the test with Elijah Brown and Thomas Fredricks who were showing off their Commerce knowledge and parents had to drag students away from William Ellis in Drama who was encouraging everyone to put on a costume. Isobelle Moss was out in Music showing people her skills, Makaylah Heron was challenging everyone on the obstacle course for PDHPE and Malachi Walker took the spotlight for ‘Ask Malachi’ in the Multimedia section radio show.
At PCS we want to see each child achieve their goals from academics to sport and help them secure a future by building the skills they need right here and now!
With so many staff and students around to help make the night amazing we hope you all had a great time.
