Our Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students spent Wednesday afternoon with Todd, Hannah and Jess from Northparkes Mine. They heard about the mining industry in general and the many and varied job opportunities that the industry provides. They were also given specifics around scholarships and apprenticeships currently available.
Students were able to ask questions about the skills that HR were looking for when going through résumés and conducting interviews as well as the culture at Northparkes.
We value the time that Northparkes staff put into our students to help them feel prepared to get the most out of their careers after school. They have also offered to set our students up with some work experience in the next couple of months.
There are some great graduates of PCS currently completing traineeships and we look forward to seeing more take up any opportunities that come their way.
