This term, the Year 9/10 PASS (Physical Activity and Sports Studies) students have been learning about Australia’s Sporting Identity.
We have been looking at who/what has influenced us over the years to become the sporting nation that we are today. One of those influences has been the Indigenous Culture.
We looked at the games that originated from this culture and selected six of them to learn how to play during one of our prac lessons.
The class was divided into six groups and had to firstly learn the game themselves, plan it out, organise the equipment required and then teach it to the rest of the class.
They also discovered that there were aspects of each of the games that mirrored games/sports that we play today.
