Like every other student around NSW, the country and even the world, education has looked a little different for Year 2 over the last few weeks. Most students have been working from home in a variety of settings.
Some students have continued coming to school throughout this time, but even their work environment has been a little different to the usual. Most days have been spent in the library, with other students from across the primary school. No matter the learning environment, Year 2 has been working hard, they have been spelling, reading and writing, they have been doing mathematics, science and art. It has been so wonderful to see student’s book work as it has come into school for marking at the end of each week and discovering just how much hard work they have been putting into their learning.
Year 2 could not have continued learning as well as they have, without the support of their parents, who I know, have often had to juggle school, career and family life even more so than usual over the last several weeks. Thank you! I am so looking forward to the children’s return to school this week and the return to face-to-face teaching. Our classroom looks a little different to what it has before, but the education and care remain the same.
This week I asked students to submit a photo of their learning environment or something they have been working on this week, while participating in online learning.
I can’t wait to see Year 2 and their families again next week.
