One of our favourite parts in the transition into Senior schooling is setting our students up with a staff mentor. This is to help them in the transition to Senior School and prepare them for success after school. Students choose a mentor, at the end of Year 10, that they feel comfortable with and then connect regularly to chat about; life, school and careers.
This program is really important to us as it gives students another avenue of support. Our mentors talk with students, prepare time management techniques, help set up interviews and resumes, assist in researching career goals, suggest positive wellbeing strategies and most importantly pray with and for their mentee.
Students who have completed this program at the end of their HSC journey have gone on to successful careers and study and are genuinely kind and happy people and that is very important to us and the main goal of our Mentor Program. It is now more important than ever to rely on the support systems that are in place for our students.
