One of our largest contingents of swimmers ever headed to the Zone Carnival last Friday and represented our school with distinction. It was a great day for the Ellis family with Nicole, Kelly and William all winning a number of races and qualifying for State. Nicole and Kelly also finished second in their age groups in terms of overall individual points.
The McMaster brothers, Riley and Jack, had similarly dominant performances with Jack breaking the magical 30 second barrier in the 50m freestyle. Riley and Jack, along with Thomas McIntyre, also finished second in their age groups for overall points.
However, the star of the day was Samuel Quince who was Age Champion in the 12 years boys division and also qualified for State in every race he swam in. Tiana Westgarth was also Age Champion for the 12 years girls.
Congratulations to all swimmers who took part in the day. The Primary State Swimming Carnival is being held on Monday, 9 March, at Blacktown, while the High School Carnival is at the Sydney Olympic Centre on Monday, 23 March.
