The first-ever PCS team to compete in a Christian Schools Sports Association gala day was very successful, with the mixed 6-a-side hockey team having creditable performances on the field and having three players selected for representative honours.
Macarthur Hockey Complex in Narellan was the steamy, hot venue for the day, with temperatures reaching the low 30s and humidity hovering around 90%.
PCS played eventual winners Northern Beaches Christian School Blue, first up and put in a great performance to lose by only 3 goals. We then played NBCS White, losing by 4, then suffered an unfortunate loss to Inaburra by 1 goal.
The team were cheering with wild elation when Lara Bennett slotted home our first goal of the day against Illawarra Christian School to secure a 1-0 victory, and Wira Thomson scored in a 1-1 draw against Carinya College, Tamworth.
All players put in a great effort and are to be congratulated for being the pathfinders in this competition.
As a bonus, Lara Bennett of Year 8 was overjoyed with her selection in under 16 CSSA side, Wira Thomson was shocked with his selection in the Open Boys CSSA team, and Samuel Quince is a reserve goalkeeper for the Opens team.
A big thank you to Mrs Natalie Quince for being our number 1 supporter for the day!
