Year 5 have had an exciting start to the year. Over the last few weeks, they have been learning how to write factual descriptions of real subjects and literary descriptions of imaginary characters. Year 5 have also been learning how to calculate and compare probability and have been very excited to build purposeful items. Plans are already in motion to build containers that can protect an egg from a two-storey fall.
Our motto for the year is: “Have the courage to make mistakes and the wisdom to learn from them.” We value the fact that we can’t know everything right away and that sometimes we need to get things wrong and try a skill again in a different way in order to learn.
Year 5 are always working very hard in the classroom. They are a hardworking and friendly bunch of young men and women. It will be exciting to see what they accomplish this year.
