Welcome back to another year at PCS! I trust that in the midst of a tough summer with bushfires and ongoing drought, you managed to take a break and spend some quality time with family and friends. We are certainly believing for a wet 2020 and a positive year for our community.
We have been hard at work behind the scenes preparing for a solid year of quality education and opportunities for our students. As the new year begins we have new students in every year from Kindergarten to Year 10! It is great to see so many new faces around the school. In fact, we start 2020 with more enrolments than ever before! As a staff we work hard on creating and maintaining a healthy school across all areas. The sustained growth we have been experiencing is a great indication of this and another sign that we are moving in the right direction. The positive culture that exists in the staff and student body is not by accident. It comes through hard work and commitment by everyone involved, and I am so pleased to be part of this great community again in 2020.
Along with new students, we have welcomed new staff to PCS this year. Mrs Triniti Pobjie has joined us from Newcastle to teach Year 1, Mrs Jackie Berry has joined us from the Central Coast to teach Year 6 and Mrs Alice Milne has taken up a 12 month position teaching High School English and Language. We have also welcomed back Mrs Kate Melhuish who has been on maternity leave. Kate is team-teaching on Kindergarten. I know that you will enjoy getting to know these new staff members over the coming weeks and months, and helping them feel welcome.
So as we begin this year, thank you again for partnering with us in the education of your children. PCS is a great school and as a staff we are truly humbled to work with you to raise a generation of outstanding young people.
Have a great week!
Glen
