Welcome back to our final term of 2019! Can you believe that the school year will be over in a couple of short months! There is plenty happening at PCS, and we plan on making Term 4 our best one yet. This week I’d like to make some important announcements around key areas of PCS.
New Business Manager
I take great pleasure in announcing Mrs Elsie Joubert as our new Business Manager. After a lengthy recruitment process I am delighted to have Elsie join the team as a senior executive member. Elsie’s distinguished career in law and human resources will see her bring a wealth of experience to the Business Manager position. For the last seven years Elsie has been the Head of Human Resources at the PYBAR Group, a major mining services company with over 1500 employees nationwide. As a member of the senior management team, Eisie was responsible for Industrial Relations, People and Culture, Leadership and Training. Prior to PYBAR, Elsie has worked across NSW as a Procurement Specialist and Superintendent for Rio Tinto. Elsie is a fully qualified lawyer who operated a Legal Practice in South Africa before moving to Australia in 2006.
After spending the last 13 years living in Parkes, Elsie considers herself a Parkes local and is excited to be moving into a position that will keep her closer to home and family where she can invest in the local community. I’m sure you will make Elsie feel welcome as she settles in the role. Welcome Elsie!
I am also pleased to announce that Mrs Anna Pearce has joined the PCS team as a part-time Bookkeeper. Anna has worked in bookkeeping and administration roles in QLD and NSW. We are privileged to have someone of Anna’s experience and qualification supporting Elsie in the administration team. Welcome Anna!
At the same time we are also farewelling Mrs Lynne Sharp who has been working part time in accounts and administration for the past six years. We thank Lynne for all she has brought to PCS and wish her all the very best as she begins an exciting new work opportunity in Forbes.
Change to End of Year Events
For those who have attended our Presentation Evening over the past couple of years, you would have noticed how crowded our whole school event has become. With growing enrolments and limited space in our Hall, we have made the decision to split the end of year Presentation Evening into separate Primary and High School events. The new details are as follows:
High School Presentation Evening – Thursday 14th November @6:30 – 8pm
Primary Presentation Assembly – Tuesday 10th December @11:30am – 1pm
Parents and extended family are invited to attend these special events, which will include awards, musical items and announcements of school leadership positions. We look forward to having you a part of it!
Have a great week everyone.
Glen
