Year 6’s class motto this year is, “Your attitude has everything to do with the results you achieve”. So far this term, Year 6 have been demonstrating a wonderful attitude towards their work and are on track towards achieving some great results. They are working together as a cohesive group and some of their leadership skills are impressive.
The students have been learning the importance of immediately engaging an audience when writing texts. They’ve been learning strategies to do this and have been practising those strategies in groups and individually. They have also been delving into Australia’s colonial history and have used their research skills and imagination to discover what life would have been like for a convict and for the original inhabitants of our land at that time.
This year is shaping up to be both exciting and rewarding.
