WELCOME back students, families and to our new students and families. Not only are we excited to welcome our students and families here at Parkes Christian School but also four new teachers to our staff family and school. We would like to introduce them to you.
- K-2 Coordinator, Mrs Elizabeth Harris. Mrs Harris will commence her role with us in Term 2.
- Miss Natalie Healy is excited to be teaching our Year 1 class this year.
- Mr Andrew Hardy has joined our High School department and is our PDHPE teacher and Sports Coordinator.
- Mr Jay Quince will be heading up our Mathematics Department as well as working within the Student Welfare Team.

Tuesday 14 February is our Swimming Carnival to be held at the Parkes Aquatic Centre. Notes were sent home last week, with all the information you should need. If you have any queries or you need more information please contact our office. Volunteers are always appreciated, and if you can help in any way please see Andrew Hardy or Greg Ballantyne on the day.
During this extremely hot weather, we have been opening the hall up for students to allow them a cool air conditioned space to go during lunch times. Can we please encourage you to check that your child has a hat and water bottle in their bag every day.
Primary Homework Hub will be running each Monday during the term for all Primary students in Year 2 to 6. Our first homework hub will commence Week 3 Monday 13 February. Notes were sent home last week and need to be returned if your child/ren will be attending. Please be mindful that students will need to be picked up by a parent or guardian no later than 4pm.
This year we are holding our Welcome BBQ on Thursday 16 February. This is a great way for our students and families and staff to meet our new students and families. The night will consist of a relaxed BBQ for everyone followed by some information sessions. There will be more information to come, but be sure to mark this date on your calendar for Thursday of next week.
Parent Teacher Interviews are fast approaching. This is a great opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers and ask any questions you may have. Information letters regarding this will come home soon.
